FOUR.....4.....fore.....

it's been awhile since i gave you the fifth happiest memory of summer......so today is the fourth happiest memory of summertime..
ice-cream pie......my nana (my dad's mom) always had ice-cream pies frozen in her freezer. i would think about those pies as we drove from outside philadelphia to franklin lakes new jersey.....nana would take me to the freezer when we got there and let me pick out the kind we would have for dessert.... her freezer was a seperate one, and when i say she had a freezer full of these pies...i am not kidding...she had as many as 10 frozen ready to eat.... i would be so excited to get done with dinner so that that pie would come out.....oh they were to die for....she knew i loved the crust...so if any would break off while she was cutting the pieces, she would put the extra on my plate....i never got a second piece....oh i wanted one.....but it is and will always be one of favorite summertime memories...
as nana got older, she took time to teach me to make them... i felt special that she would take the time to teach me her receipe.....mmmmm
i decided to put one together yesterday...john loves sherbet so for this pie i used a homemade graham cracker crust....cookies and cream ice-cream and raspberry sherbet......enjoy...it looks almost as good as it tastes......
