summer memories.....i have so many...it's hard to pick just one...but i was thinking of my monday beach days now that i am in georgia....the beach means so many things to me....it's restful.....when i was a single mom the pressures were sometimes unbearable..(oh i bore them) but many times on the inside i wondered if i was going to be able to provide for my kids....and when i ran to the beach....i found quiet, peace, renewing.....the Lord gave me the beach to rest my soul......and it worked....it really stirs my emotions when i see the beach....i usually shed tears just because i remember the burdens rolling off my shoulders the days we spent at the beach in southern california.....
so you may wonder ...what do showers have to do with memories......well....when i was little we spent summer days on the beaches of atlantic city/ventnor beach in new jersey....i remember the miserable rides home with sand in my bathing suit...it wasn't my mothers fault....my dad just hated stopping to give mommy time to rinse off her three little ones...so we hated the ride home.... my momma tried to remedy the situation with baby powder..and it worked somewhat.....when i became a mommy....i decided that the miserable ride home wouldn't happen to my babies...so i took a beach bag full of bathroom things to shower the kids before we came home.....we would enjoy the day......swim, build sand castles, play baseball, take long walks and collect shells......then we would head to the bathroom showers.....or outdoor showers.....and clean up...i had shampoo, soap, towels, clean clothes.....and yes....BABY POWDER......we washed the sand off and out of all the nooks and cranny's and then slipped on clean clothes that were sand free....then head back to the beach fire, cook hotdogs....and enjoy the sunset.....i loved those times....the kids loved cleaning up and when we got in the car to head home....they fell asleep and i was able to carry them in one at a time and put them in bed........sand free!!!!
i miss my babies.....i know i need to " get over it".....but i just miss them being little, free of worry, innocent about life, ....they were the best of times......

Aww,Pam, so sweet and special to hear your innermost thoughts. You have always been a wonderful mom and you can be sure each of your sweet kids remembers those times.
