count down continues : six

time: summers
place: hornell, ny
people: grandma and grandpa
friend: debbie

debbie had a farm...E-I-E-I-O.....and on this farm she had some cows...and i loved farms and i loved cows..i still do..i always thought when i grew up i would be married to a farmer..i wanted to be a farmers wife...i would ride my bike up crosby creek road to debbie's house and spend the day..we would let the cows out to pasture in the morning..then go get them at evening time and bring them in the barn for milking...by hand!! then take the pails of milk down to the house...we would walk for what seemed like miles on these narrow paths to bring the cows in...we would walk behind them with sticks to get them moving...i was in love!!!! sometimes i would spend the night...her bedroom was upstairs...she had the old wallpaper on her walls from years gone by...the slanted ceilings and the low beds with a single mattress..quilts on the beds...aaaahhhh times were amazing...she had a huge pig...one summer it had 13 babies...we watched them for what seemed like hours....aaahhhh to be young again....

You are cute, Pam. I love thinking of you on the farm. I am pretty sure you could do something about the fresh egg part of your story. Just sayin'.
