cream cheese banana nut muffins

my sister in law kim and i are getting southern living magazine for a year.....we are trying receipes and then deciding which ones we love the most...i tried this one.....my goodness.....it's supposed to be a bread but i made them into muffins..delicious.......try.......:) mmmmmmmmm

1 1/4 c chopped pecans.....i used almonds
1/4 c butter
1 - 8oz. cream cheese
1 c sugar
2 large eggs
1 1/2 c whole wheat flour
1 1/2 cups flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c buttermilk
1 1/2 c. mashed banana's
1/2 tsp. vanilla

preheat oven 350.....toast half the nuts in the oven....15 minutes...
beat cream cheese and butter....add sugar.....add eggs......beat till fluffy....
combine whole wheat flour and the next 4 ingredients....then add to cream cheese mixture...flour, buttermilk, flour, buttermilk till combined..... blend in bananas, toasted nuts......pour into muffin tin...top with remaining nuts.......bake 25 minutes till done........mmmmmm
then on top.........mix 1/2 c. powdered sugar, orange rind and orange juice till icing consistancy..........drizzle over top of warm muffins......

Pammy, I went to make them and had no flour, can't wait to try them. The recipe for Ranch Chicken Casserole near the back of that issue is good too! Wish we could be together to try these! Love you!
