listening to lyrics

last week i was teasing my hubby about leaving me for a week. i told him the party would begin when he left!! of course i was joking.......but....since he has been gone, i have realized that i don't like him leaving me....i like him around.....he's my best friend and i don't like being without him.....it's lonely...i want him back now!!! i don't want to wait till saturday!!!

do you ever hear a song and it takes you back to days gone by??? i have heard several christmas songs that remind me of the years i spent alone, after my divorce.....i've been crying at each one......logan thinks i am nuts.....aubrey thinks i have lost my marbles......the loneliness i felt was hard at times.....and some christmas songs got/get to me more than others.....this following one has been playing every time..(no kidding)...every time i have turned on the radio this week....and of course it was and is one of my favorites, despite the tears....

do you remember me
i sat upon your knee
i wrote to you
with childhood fantasies

well, i'm all grown up now
and still need help somehow
i'm not a child
but my heart still can dream

so here's my lifelong wish
my grown up christmas list
not for myself
but for a world in need

no more lives torn apart
that wars would never start
and time would heal the heart
and everyone would have a friend
and right would always win
and love would never end, oh
this is my grown up christmas list

as children we believe
the grandest sight to see
was something lovely
wrapped beneath the tree

but heaven only knows
that packages and bows
can never heal
a hurting human soul

no more lives torn apart
that wars would never start
and time would heal all hearts
and everyone would have a friend
and right would always win
and love would never end
oh, this is my grown up christmas list

what is this illusion called the innocence of youth
maybe only in our blind belief can we ever find the truth

no more lives torn apart
that wars would never start
and time would heal all hearts
and everyone would have a friend
and right would always win
and love would never end, oh
this is my grown up christmas list
this is my only life long wish
this is my grown up christmas list

my verse i hung on too during those years was....The Lord is close to the broken hearted. it is my favorite!
thank the Lord those years are behind me and i can thank Him for my new hubby john and all the joy and happiness he has brough to me!!

I know that we must have been sisters in a past life. I can't believe you picked that song. I listen to it all the time. In the mornings when I'm alone and it is quiet, at the gym when I'm on the treadmill, in the sauna. I love the words and I think if everyone wished for those things, perhaps we would all be happier, safer and peaceful.

Pam, I have always thought how strong and amazing you are for raising three great kids on your own. I am so happy that you have John. Don't be sad, he'll be home soon. I love you.
