Clinical Signs:
Nausea will sometimes cause dogs to salivate. They may vomit food, clear liquid, stained yellow bile, grass or blood. Depending on the underlying cause of the vomiting, the dog can have a good or poor appetite, diarrhea, dehydration, or other signs. There can be weight loss if the disease has been going on for a while and the gums may be tacky or dry from dehydration.
canine vomit they call it.......simple right??? well not for macy... john got home yesterday at 5pm...he walked into a house full of vomit ...blood, and poop....poor guy!! our macy grey had gotten sick....(we think she ate a nylabone)...doesn't she know she needs to chew it... anyhow......she had broken out of her lovely metal kennel, puked, pooped and shredded a quilt all over the house...she was so sick...we took 1 hour or more to clean up the mess while logan sat with her outside...i gave her a warm bath and then she started being unsteady on her feet, dragging her front right leg...this put me in hysterics....i never go crazy but for macy i did!!! john lifted her into the car, i sat with her as he drove us to southlake emergency medical hospital for doggies.....they checked her out and sure enough she was so dehydrated, the vet said that if we hadn't brought her in she would probably have died.. the last dog he had there with a dehydration level of 68 had died.....so she spent the night in the hospital on i.v.'s and antibiotics...i picked her up this morning at 7:30am and she was able to come home...she is snoozing on taylor's bed and is exhausted!! what we do for our "man's best friend" ....
